DEVELOPMENT PLAN
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Damside Preparatory School was established in the year 2002 with an aim of supporting needy children to realize their rights to access quality education. The school was registered as a CBO under the ministry of Gender culture and social services. The school accommodated over 350 needy children and facilitated them to continue with education through preschool, primary and secondary.
Most of these children come from very poor home and majorities are total orphans. The school provides education for needy children from preschool, primary upto secondary school.
Previously our school was based in Kibera along Kianda 42 bus terminus near Jamhuri Estate and Nairobi international trade fare ground along railway line .However, with the ongoing railway demolition of houses a long railway on 21st June 2018 our School was demolished by the government to pave way for e railway station. We therefore moved to Kiserian Kajiado (Isinya Sub County) where we have been able to set up boarding facilities and education for our children.
Now, the School is facing many challenges almost shutting down. In order to effectively continue providing basic needs for our children therefore we intend to construct more classrooms, dormitories, kitchen, school lab , install electricity and many more as shown in the School Development Plan below .Our major investment will be providing quality education to all needy children.
Damside Preparatory School, Support for orphans and vulnerable children is aimed to; advocate for child rights and reduce mortality among school going children through the following specific objectives.
