OUR BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
Damside preparatory school (DPS) is a community based school registered as a CBO.It started in the year 2002 in a church hall in the slums of Kibera , Nairobi Kenya. The school runs from pre-school, primary and secondary.
The current population is 200 children ECDE, primary and secondary who are mostly vulnerable and orphans from Kibera slum and some from the Masai community. On 21st June 2018, our school got demolished by the government of Kenya to pave way for the railway line. We lost all our property. Students, teachers and parents lost their property too as their homes were demolished too. We move to Kiserian Kajiado county Kenya where we began the rebuilding efforts to shelter the learners, feed and teach them. The rebuilding work was done by the help of friends, well-wishers and other school partner who had previously volunteered.
